About Monk Bretton Priory
Friends of Monk Bretton Priory group has been working since 2002 to raise awareness of this Cluniac site. Supported by Heritage Lottery Fund, Leeds, we have brought about new advertising for both tourism and education, lesson packs for schools and on-site information panels. We help Barnsley Heritage Forum and other local groups. We act as site guides on Heritage Open Days.
At our open meetings, we have expert speakers and discussionson local archaeology, history and cultural projects.
We meet at 7pm on the last Thursday every month at Priory Campus, Pontefract Road, Lundwood, Barnsley - all welcome.
